Fashion is definitely moving into a space of individualism. Runways across the globe seem to be taking us back to the 80s – think velvet blazers, puffer sleeves and fishnet stockings. The niche lies in taking the current trends, and making them your own.
These are our favourite items for the upcoming months:
Go green. The 2017 colour of the year is inspired by nature. Make your outfit pop with a green clutch bag and matching earrings.
Mix-and-match. Formal, informal… what’s the difference? Why not wear interchangeable elements? A tailored suit paired with a beanie and scarf is the way to go.
Make a statement. Big, bold, chunky necklaces are always a winner. Go big or go home – in all demin and an in-your-face neckpiece.
Add some frills. We are loving the lady-like touch that peplum belts add to any ensemble.
Challenge the norm. Who created fashion rules? A woman wearing a shirt and bow tie is totally rad. And a brooch or lapel on a men’s blazer adds that little something extra.
Fashion is what you make of it. The number one rule in fashion: always wear what you want to wear.
