The 27 April commemorates the day South Africa held its first democratic election (1994).
We celebrated the day with an extraordinary ‘mother’ from the Clover Mama Afrika project. The project identifies women making a difference in their communities and trains them with skills, to be self sufficient.
Mama Mary has 150 children in her care and runs among other things, a bakery and sewing facility. Under her guidance, Regina is the head seamstress and makes our beautiful clothing accessories.
It is both humbling and moving to recognise the potential our new venture holds. What we do, and how we do it; has a direct impact on the livelihoods of many young boys and girls in the community.
Freedom Day 2016 will go down in our books as a liberating experience.
